Medzy.ca, a Montreal, Canada-based digital pharmacy platform, secured $2m in funding.
The backers were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to expand technology beyond Montreal to Quebecers and develop its AI-powered platform to analyze current datasets like service dates and prescription changes to increase therapeutic efficacy and predict medication adherence.
Founded in 2019 by Francis Valois and Sonia Boutin, Medzy.ca provides a platform that connects patients with pharmacists. It helps its affiliated pharmacy simplify medication management for their patients to improve therapeutic efficacy and therefore their quality of life. Pharmacists use Medzy’s technology to remind patients about their refills so that they do not run out of medication and provide free, no-contact home delivery with real-time order tracking. Pharmacy patients receive their medication sorted by the date and time taken and have access to their pharmacist 24/7 by phone, text, email or chat.
New offerings to be made available include same-day delivery and family management through its upcoming mobile app.
To support its Quebec-wide expansion, the company’s affiliated pharmacy plans on moving to a new 10,000 square foot warehouse, employ additional workers and utilize robotics to help refill, prepare and deliver prescriptions across the province.
