Carewell, a Charlotte, NC-based advocate for caregivers and online supplier of home health products, closed over $5m in seed funding.
Backers included e.ventures, NextView Ventures, and Primetime Partners and a group of entrepreneurs and advisors including Chewy.com’s former VP of Growth Marketing, Jason Klinghoffer, and Dia Co founders, Nadia Boujarwah and Lydia Gilbert. In conjunction with the funding, e.ventures Founding Partner Mathias Schilling will join Carewell’s Board of Directors, while NextView Partner David Beisel will act as board observer.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its expert-vetted product offerings, simplify ordering, and develop its educational resources.
Co-founded in 2015 by Bianca Padilla and Jonathan Magolnick, Carewell is an e-commerce company for independent caregivers seeking proactive service, content, and expert-vetted products. The company now offers a subscription service to automatically reorder high-usage goods for customers—freeing up time and resources for caregivers.
Carewell’s team also includes Jeremy Mayes, Head of Marketing; Josh Miller, Director of Engineering; Sarah Serbiak, Director of Merchandising; and Valerie Henderson, Director of Content and Communications.
